I'm doing the Whole 30




My 2nd Experience

with the Whole30 Program and Paleo eating

Day 6 - February 9th, 2014

Today as I woke up I wasn't sure if it was really day 6, of if it should be reset to Day 1 again, due to the hidden ingredients in yesterday's dinner. So I resorted to my great support group, my Whole60 Family, and it was unanimous (among the ones that did reply, of course) that it should be day 6. The one that convinced me instantly was this one:

I agree.
It sounds like you were thoughtful of the choices you were presented with and rather than blow the whole evening and gorge on dessert while you were at it, you picked items which were as close to the program as possible.
This is supposed to be a sustainable lifestyle and while we need to be hard core at the beginning, so our bodies know what it is to have only healthy food it in, and as long as you understand the following day might be more difficult, cravings could sneak in and but get back on track, then you should feel great that you made it through a night out where you didn’t have control over your meal choices.
Keep positive, believe in the process and be proud of yourself!

Meal 1

In my eggs today I had some of the warm bell pepper side I saved yesterday morning especially for today's breakfast. It also had half an avocado mixed to it.

First meal of Day 6: Eggs with warm bell peper side and avocado

Meal 2

For lunch I had steak again, but this time with a small salad and some grilled zucchini and eggplant. To drink, Perrier with a lemon wedge and a few crushed blueberries (to which my daughter reacted with a 'eewww'. hehe)

Second meal of Day 6: beef, salad and grilled zuchinni and eggplant

Meal 3

For dinner My husband wasn't hungry, as we went to the movies and he exaggerated in the amount of popcorn he ate. So I served the girls then decided to so something quick and easy for me, that would not require cooking. The chosen 'fast-food' was a couple of nori rolls. Actually 3 of them. In the first one, I spread some half-home-made tomato sauce, then filled with prosciutto, kimchi and the other half of the avocado. The second one had vegan pesto spread on, then it was filled with smoked salmon and pico de gallo. After eating the second, I realized I needed a third one and repeat the same as the second, as it was the one I liked the best.

To drink, plain water.
