My 1st Experience
with the Whole30 Program and Paleo eating
Day 10 - September 16th, 2013
Today the energy level is back up completely. At workout we did suicides (my most dreaded exercise) and I did good. Still the slowest in the class, but that's maybe because I love life so much that I tend to go slow on suicides... ;o) But I did beat the strong, fast, advanced-level guy in the last sprint! Yay! .
To start my day, I scrambled 2 eggs with 2 cubes of sweet potatoes and half an avocado. It was a pretty combination of colors and a yummy start for the day.
To drink, the now typical black and plain coffee.
For meal 2, I did not have the time in the morning to pack lunch so I had to try to find safe items in the salad bar of the cafeteria (still staying away of the made-for-you salads... :( ). My salad today had arugula, watercress, baby spinach, radishes, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, red, yellow and green bell peppers, mushrooms, cauliflower, red onions, carrots and shrimp. All dressed with olive oil and black pepper. When I finished it, though, I was somewhat full, but I wasn't trusting that the salad only would hold me until dinner time, so I finished it up with my long standing nectarine (remember it, from day 2? the one that looked at me all day that day? My office fridge did a great job in keeping it good and waiting for me.)
To drink, I had blood orange infused water, and before coming back I grabbed another glass, this time with pear and rosemary, to drink during the afternoon.
At night, I had a migraine. As a result I did not want anything spicy, which means the last serving of my eggplant stew was out of the picture. Another result was that I was craving stuff. Anything that could help me feel better. I was actually on a state I usually call 'nervous mouth', which is when we don't know exactly what we want to eat so we keep going back and forth between sweet and salty. Today though I had only a few nuts and olives while preparing dinner. I then decided to try the eggplant, tomato zucchini stack again. I don't know if it was me or the food, but it wasn't as good. After finishing my stacks I had an orange.
To drink, I had water with a slice of the same orange I ate afterwards. My daughter's suggestion!
But even after dinner, and even not being hungry, I was still craving something sweet. It's funny that I didn't really crave anything much in the past 9 days, but today, feeling bad with the migraine the craving just came, and came strong. But I resisted!
