My 1st Experience

with the Whole30 Program and Paleo eating

Day 22 - September 28th, 2013

Today was a busy day. But one that solved my little bad meat issue. Instead of trying to go to any Bill the Butcher shop, I stopped by my friendly-neighborhood butcher Butcher Shop Cafe, about 1.5 miles from home and that has high quality meat. Not necessarily organic, but with only from local farms, mostly grass fed, natural, and all the other labels they give. I know sometimes those labels can be misleading, but they always say the farm from where the meat is and they know how the farm treats their call. Another thing that may help their meat be always fresh is that they're also a cafe, which helps ensure the meat will be consumed if not sold. Great service, great meat.

Meal 1

In the morning, I sort of wanted to go away from eggs, but was still not able. My eggs today had smoked salmon and a few hazelnuts. After the eggs, a pluot.

My coffee choice today was Roma. Good!

My first meal on day 22

My trip to the Butcher Shop Cafe was in the morning, so for meal 2 I was already happy, happy with a bunch of beef at my disposal. I sliced a piece of NY Strip and made it into a stir fry with some carrots, collards greens, mushrooms, onions, asparagus and green beans (yep! New veggies! Hubby went to grocery store while I was with the girls at a craft store doing some kids crafts...), and seasoned with coconut aminos and some fennel salt. I had it on top of some lettuce leaves. Yummy. Just forgot to take a picture... :( After the stir fry I had an orange too (That's easy to take a picture of, so here it goes. Not exactly the one I ate, but from the same box...).

To drink, water with a slice of orange inside.

My second meal on day 22

Meal 3

After meal 2 and before the kids party we went to today, I found time to also cook the ground meat I so wanted to make, so that was dinner, ground beef, with asparagus, green beans and sweet potato. To season the veggies I tried a new condiment that arrives this week: Black Lava Hawaiian Sea Salt. It was very nice.

To drink, a cup of Roiboos tea.

Third meal of Day 22

As I mentioned above, today we had a kids party to attend. It was cool because everyone was noticing and commenting my weight loss and I got to talk about the Whole30 to people out of our group. One friend was even interested. She's been thinking about trying Paleo for a while and got interested when she found out i was doing it. I promise to send her a link to the book, the Whole9 website and this website of mine. The pizza guy was there too, saying I shrank. So I told him that this is for him to stop flying pizzas on my face. But he's he and still gave me a hard time, making unwelcomed comments every now and then. Oh well... But day was good anyways. Fun, beefy and just good!
