My 1st Experience
with the Whole30 Program and Paleo eating
Day 24 - September 30th, 2013
Today I felt sleepy in the afternoon, which hasn't occurred since the end of the hang over days in the first week. Not sure why. The night was not great, but it wasn't bad either, and I did feel ok in the morning. Maybe because I started the day with low protein???? Or maybe the not great night affected me more than I thought it would? Not sure.
This morning, I tried to go egg-less again and managed to make a nice breakfast that did hold my hunger until lunch time. Today's attempt was to make a 'bean-less feijoada', or to be more precise, to cook the typical sides of a feijoada without having the main dish. So I went for collard greens with bacon and orange. It was good. The bacon is still good (serious trust issue here with Bill the Butcher!), but it was probably not enough protein. I'm guessing that this may have been the reason for my afternoon slumber...
For my coffee, I tried the Cappricio, but must admit didn't pay too much attention. It wasn't bad though, because if it was I would have noted.
For my second meal I went to the cafeteria salad bar again and made myself a salad with watercress, arugula, green cabbage, pico de gallo, carrots, mushrooms, cauliflower, cucumbers, red-yellow-and-green peppers, jalapeno and shrimp, dressed with olive oil. It was good, but I guess it was a bit too small.
To drink, pineapple-mint water. Then on my way back to the office, I grabbed another cup, but of strawberry-basil water.
At night, I decided to consume my last best-cicken-youll-ever-eat-ever before it started tasting like old. At the side, I had butternut squash and roasted eggplant spread.
I also cooked some chuck steak, but that'll be for tomorrow. ;)
To drink, I brought a Talking Rain from work and that was my drink for meal 3.
